Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Mealful ("Mealful," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Mealful mobile application and any related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, tapping to agree, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Mealful. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If you are using Mealful on behalf of a minor with parental or guardian consent, you are responsible for that minor's compliance with these Terms.

3. The Mealful service

Mealful is a meal-planning app that lets you plan meals by week or day, browse recipes, build a categorised grocery list, and log what you actually ate, including by taking a photo of a meal.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service without notice or liability.

4. Your account

You need an account to use most of Mealful's features. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@mealful.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, provided false information, or engaged in activity that harms Mealful, other users, or third parties.

5. Acceptable use

When using Mealful, you agree not to:

•Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.

•Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law.

•Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the Service or its infrastructure, including through automated scraping or bots.

•Upload or transmit content that is infringing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful, or that impersonates another person.

•Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or related systems.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Certain features are available only through a paid subscription ("Mealful Pro"). Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (weekly or annually) through the Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable, and are processed by Apple, Google, and our billing partner RevenueCat.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your payment method will be charged through your App Store or Google Play account, and you authorize that store to charge you for renewals.

You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period, except as required by law or by Apple's or Google's refund policies.

If we offer a free trial or promotional pricing, its terms will be disclosed at the time of offer. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, a paid subscription will begin automatically at the standard price.

We may change subscription prices or plans from time to time. If a price change affects your existing subscription, we will provide notice as required by applicable law or store policy before the change takes effect.

7. Health and nutrition disclaimer

Mealful provides recipes, calorie and macro estimates, and other nutrition-related information for general informational and convenience purposes only. It is not medical, dietary, or health advice, and it is not a substitute for consultation with a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional.

Nutritional information (including data generated from meal photos) is an estimate and may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are solely responsible for verifying that any recipe or meal is safe for you, including with respect to allergies, intolerances, and medical conditions, before consuming it.

Do not use Mealful to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. If you have a medical condition or dietary restriction, consult a qualified professional before changing your diet.

8. User content

"User Content" means any information you submit to Mealful, such as meal photos, logged meals, favourites, and profile details. You retain ownership of your User Content.

By submitting User Content, you grant Mealful a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service for you (for example, to analyse a meal photo and estimate its nutrition).

You are responsible for the User Content you submit and confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, recipes curated by Mealful, logos, and underlying software, is owned by Mealful or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service on your personal device for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, or attempt to extract its source code, unless applicable law permits it.

10. Third-party services

Mealful relies on third-party services to operate, including Apple and Google for app distribution and payments, RevenueCat for subscription management, and cloud infrastructure providers for data storage and photo analysis.

Your use of these third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services.

11. Termination

You may stop using Mealful and delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting support@mealful.app.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice before termination.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply after your account is closed.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that recipe, nutrition, or calorie information will be accurate for every user or situation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mealful and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid to Mealful in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars (US$100) if you have not made any payments.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mealful and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your User Content, or your misuse of the Service.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Mealful is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will first be addressed informally by contacting support@mealful.app. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have under local law.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or for legal or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means before they take effect.

Continuing to use Mealful after updated Terms take effect means you accept the changes. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service.
